Liberty Industrial in the Running for International Award
Liberty Industrial are a finalist for the 2018 World Demolition Awards

4 September 2018 – Liberty Industrial’s Port Kembla Stacker and Reclaimer Deconstruction project is a contender for the 2018 World Demolition Awards

The awards are part of the annual World Demolition Summit, the leading international event for the demolition industry that attracts thousands of demolition industry professionals each year. The awards recognise excellence and best practice in the demolition industry.

Liberty Industrial’s Port Kembla Stacker and Reclaimer Deconstruction project has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Industrial Demolition Award Category.

The project involved the demolition of a stacker and reclaimer at Port Kembla Coal Terminal. The redundant coal handling machines were demolished to make way for new machinery.

Normally a complete shutdown of key operational assets would be required but Liberty Industrial’s methodology enabled the works to be carried out with minimal disruption to the coal terminal’s operations.

Liberty Industrial have four World Demolition Awards under their belt so far including the inaugural overall World Demolition Award and this makes the seventh consecutive year that Liberty Industrial has been nominated as a finalist. Not a bad effort for a company that has only been in operation for 10 years.

Liberty Industrial Director, Simon Gill said “We’re pleased to be recognised for our industrial demolition capability. From humble beginnings, Liberty Industrial has grown into a respected leader in this field. To be nominated in the industrial demolition award category once again, reinforces the integrity of our core business”.

An international judging panel made up of top names in the industry will determine the 2018 award winners. The winners will be revealed at the World Demolition Awards Gala Dinner, to be held in Dublin Ireland on the 8th of November.
