Liberty Industrial Shortlisted for Four International Awards
Liberty Industrial has been named a finalist in four award categories for the 2019 World Demolition Awards
28 August 2019 – Liberty Industrial have been named a finalist in four award categories for the 2019 World Demolition Awards. Hosted by Demolition & Recycling International, the awards recognise and honour the best in demolition.
Liberty Industrial’s Munmorah Power Station Removal Project has been named a finalist for Industrial Demolition Award Category at the 2019 World Demolition Awards. The project involved the removal of a 1400 megawatt coal fired power station. The project is the largest power station demolition project to be carried out in Australia to date.
Stage 2 of Liberty Industrial’s Port Kembla Coal Terminal Stacker and Reclaimer Demolition Project is a finalist for the 2019 World Demolition Awards in the Contract of the Year Over US$1M category. The project involved the demolition of a 1,250 tonne bucket-wheel reclaimer and two 400 tonne stackers. Achieving minimal disruption to the operational coal terminal facility was critical to the project’s success.
Liberty Industrial’s Port Kembla Gateway Crane has been shortlisted as a Finalist for Contract of the Year Under US$1M. This was a small but highly technical project involving in situ dismantling of a 200 tonne shore-crane located at the end of a Port Jetty using a mobile crawler crane situated directly alongside the redundant jetty crane.
Liberty Industrial is also a finalist for the 2019 World Demolition Awards in the Safety and Training Award category for established and implemented a comprehensive training and capacity building initiative including oxy cutting and excavator operator training packages that provide formal career pathways in the demolition and remediation industry.
This is the first time Liberty Industrial have submitted as many as four award submissions, and they were delighted to have been shortlisted in all four categories.
Liberty Industrial have four World Demolition Awards under their belt so far and this will be the eighth consecutive year that they are nominated as a finalist.

Winners will be announced on the 24th of October 2019 at the 2019 World Demolition Awards Gala Event held in Boston USA.
